Hey everyone! This is a blog where I will post my family's "paleo" meals. The paleo diet is garden vegetables (especially greens), lean meats, little starch, nuts and seeds, and no sugar.
We really like this diet and it makes us feel great! My sisters sometimes ask when we're going to be done eating like this, and somone responds by saying that we're never going to stop eating like this as a lifestyle. Although sometimes (it's probably more than sometimes) we don't follow it as strictly as we should. We like sweets!! Happy reading!

Simple and Easy
The other night, my parents had a very simple meal(they probably ate this because that was one night that we had pizza; they wanted to eat at least something healthy!).
First, they fried up some tuna steaks. Then, they sliced up some cucumbers which they seasoned with lemon-pepper seasoning(they're really good if you put lemon or lime juice on first!). And then they had mango for dessert! That's a REALLY healthy meal, and tasty too.
Mom felt great after dinner. But then, she gave into temptation and ate some pizza.
That night, while she was sleeping, she was covered in heavy sweat from head to toe. Her pajamas were soaking wet wet! She couldn't sleep. She didn't feel very well. She felt like her body was getting rid of poison! And it basically was. In the morning, her pajamas were stuck to her and crusty! Yuck! This was proof that pizza certainly wasn't good for her. And it's not good for anyone.

I'm not saying you can't ever eat pizza, but maybe less often if you eat it a lot. If you eat a lot of pizza, then that's March's goal for you! Cut back. Pizza's good once in a while.

The 'T' lunch
For lunch one day, my mom got really creative! First, she cut a hole in the top of the tomato and scooped out most of the seeds (we fed them to the chickens so they didn't go to waste). Then, she mixed some tuna and mustard together and filled the tomatoes with the mixture. It looked pretty cool (I should take pictures of our food!). My mom made one for everyone, but unfortunately, someone ate mine and I so I can't tell you how good it is.
Mexican-Paleo... (kind of :)
Last night we had a mexican-paleo dish. My mom cooked chicken in the crockpot all day so by the end, it was easy to shred. Then she made salsa. Fist, she put half an onion, two cloves of garlic, a handful of cilantro, half a red pepper, squoze two key limes, and half a bottle of drained, homecanned tomatoes into the blender. As she blended it, she added some of the tomato juice because it was a little dry.
This recipe is better with fresh tomatoes, but we didn't have any! This recipe was also doubled.
While she was making the salsa, I cut up some fresh lettuce. So we would put lettuce
on our plate first, then some shredded chicken and top it with salsa. It was very filling and healthy!

Paleo Spaghetti
In a few minutes, we will be eating Paleo spaghetti. In the sauce we have, eggplant, oninons, mushrooms, red bell peppers, hamburger, fresh tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings.
Instead of spaghetti noodles, we are eating the sauce over spaghetti squash; a very healthy substitute!
Pasta noodles are not healthy for you period. They're made of processed grains and usually white flour, which has no nutritional value. Even the noodles that they say are made of wheat flour are more processed than they need to be.

Yummy!
Tonight, we had another pretty paleo dinner. We had pork steaks, sweet potatoes, and fresh salad. I'm not sure if sweet potatoes are strictly paleo, but according to us, they're fine!
Fresh vegetables are better for you than boiled or cooked ones are. The enzymes, vitamins, and minerals in the vegetables are more accessible to your body and generally undamaged if they're fresh. I'm not saying to never eat cooked vegetables, we do that a lot, but you probably should eat fresh vegetables more often than cooked ones.

Tuna Boats
For lunch today we had tuna boats. We took a large green bell pepper and cut it into ridges or pockets (so you can put things in the pepper pieces). Then we put we put tuna in the pocket and then slices of tomato on top.
This is definitely paleo!
My mom had something else for lunch that was paleo too.
She had cut up chicken breasts with cut up tomatoes and avocados.
Enjoy!!
